Zudena is one of the four compounds studied for treating erectile dysfunction, demonstrating clinical effectiveness, a strong safety profile, and good patient acceptance. Its distinct characteristics set Zudena apart from other commercially available inhibitors of the fifth type of phosphodiesterase.

Zudena offers a quick and reliable onset of action with effects lasting up to 24 hours, positioning it among the top of PDE-5 inhibitors. It also boasts a favorable safety profile, with no testicular toxicity. Undoubtedly, these attributes make it a leading option in its category.

Each tablet contains 100 mg of Udenafil, along with excipients including lactose, maize starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, L-hydroxypropylcellulose, hydroxypropyl-LF, talc, and magnesium stearate. Available in packs of 1 or 4 tablets.

Zudena is a medication designed to treat erectile dysfunction. It functions as a reversible selective inhibitor of cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5).

Zudena does not have a direct relaxing effect on isolated corpus cavernosum tissue but enhances the relaxing effect of nitric oxide during sexual arousal by inhibiting PDE-5, which is responsible for the degradation of cGMP in the cavernous body. This leads to the relaxation of smooth muscle in the arteries and increased blood flow to the penis, resulting in erections. The drug is ineffective without sexual stimulation.

Zudena enhances erections and improves the likelihood of successful sexual intercourse. The effects last optimally for up to 24 hours and can be felt as soon as 30 minutes after ingestion when sexual arousal is present.

It is used to treat erectile dysfunction, which is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity.

The tablets should be taken orally, with or without food, 30 minutes prior to planned sexual activity. The recommended dose is 100 mg; if needed, based on individual response and tolerance, it may be increased to 200 mg. The maximum suggested frequency of use is once per day.

Side effects may include flushing, dizziness, eye discomfort, increased tearing, nasal congestion, and headache. Other noted effects are palpitations and prolonged erections.

Engaging in sexual activity poses potential risks for individuals with cardiovascular issues, hypertension; therefore, the treatment of sexual dysfunctions, including the use of Zudena, should be approached with caution in men with cardiac problems where sexual activity is not advisable.

Patients with left ventricular outflow obstruction (such as aortic stenosis) may be more prone to the effects of vasodilators, including PDE inhibitors. Although clinical trials have not documented cases of prolonged erection (lasting longer than 4 hours) or priapism (painful erection exceeding 6 hours), these events are known risks with this class of drugs. Should an erection persist for more than 4 hours (regardless of pain), patients must seek immediate medical attention. Without prompt treatment, priapism can result in irreversible damage to erectile tissue and loss of erectile function.
